The Directorate of Secondary Education (DSE), Assam has announced two new job openings for recruiting Post Graduate Teachers (PGT). This recruitment is divided into two categories: Government Secondary Schools and Provincialized Secondary Schools under the Secondary Education Department, Government of Assam. Total Post for Government Secondary School: 102
Total Post for Provincialized Secondary School: 1285
Salary:- Pay scale: ₹.22,000.00 to ₹97,000.00 and Grade Pay: Rs. 11,800.00 .
Eligibility Criteria of DSE Assam Requirement for Post-Graduate Teacher
Age Limit:- The Candidates must be at least 21 years old and no older than 38 as of January 1, 2023. (for open category only)
Age Relaxation:- for other categories-
*Ex-sevicemen:- 2 years
*OBC/MOBC:- 3 years
*SC/ST:- 5 years
*PWD:-10 years
Educational Qualifications:- Applicants must hold a post-graduate degree in the relevant subject with at least 50% marks from a recognized university and a B.Ed. Qualifications must be from an institution approved by the National Council for Teacher Education(NCTE). Degrees earned through distance learning or off-campus programs are not accepted. The subject must also have been studied at the degree level.
Additional Criteria for Applicants:
Assamese Medium Schools:
- Assamese must be one of the subjects taken in the HSLC (or its equivalent) for candidates to be considered.
- Alternatively, they can possess a diploma in Assamese from the Assam Sahitya Sabha. They may also qualify if they have studied up to HSLC level in an Assamese Medium School.
Bengali Medium Schools:
- Bengali must have been one of the topics taken in the HSLC (or its equivalent) for candidates to be eligible.
- Alternatively, they can hold a diploma in Bengali from the Barak Upatyaka Bangla Sahitya O Sanskriti Sammelan. They may also qualify if they have studied up to HSLC level in a Bengali Medium School.
Hindi Medium Schools:
- In their HSLC (or its equivalent), candidates must have taken Hindi as one of their subjects.
- If they have completed their studies in a Hindi-medium school up to the HSLC level, they might also be eligible.
Bodo Medium Schools:
- Passing HSLC or its equivalent with Bodo as one of the subjects is mandatory for candidates..
- Alternatively, they may qualify if they have studied up to HSLC level in a Bodo Medium School.
English Medium Schools:
- To be eligible, candidates must have passed HSLC or an equivalent exam that includes Alternative English among the subjects
- Alternatively, they may qualify if they have studied from Class XI onwards in an English Medium School.
Employment Exchange Registration:- The candidate must register their name with an Employment Exchange to be eligible for the job application process.
